On Friday Adam and I drove all the way down to Wales, with our final stop being Cardiff. I’d decided to do a fair for the Jubilee on Saturday at an arts centre there called Chapter. The drive down was a bit of a ball-ache, I drove to Stafford and the roads were pretty quiet.. as soon as Adam swapped in we hit long delays and queueing traffic. We also got lost TWICE on the way (damn you google maps directions) into Cardiff. Anyway, we arrived at around 4pm and I’d managed to pick us a hotel right next to the Millenium Centre (or Torchwood as we prefer to call it).
As we were right by the bay there were loads of bars, restaurants & things to look at, so for the evening we had a stroll around, a few drinks and a lovely meal. We ate at a trip-advisor recommended place (great to have the app open and find places near you), Mr G’s Soul Kitchen on Bute Street. We went early doors which was lucky as all the tables after our sitting were booked up. We shared a jerk chicken starter (deeelicious), and both opted for curried goat as a main. The staff were awesome friendly, the service was fast, and the food was exceptional. Seeing as we were in the capital of Wales the bill came to a very reasonable figure, too.
I had my DSLR with me, and wanted to get some photos of Torchwood and that, but turns out some dunce brought a battery with no charge. Thankfully I have an iPhone…
The fair could’ve gone better, not gonna lie, but Chapter was a really lovely venue & I got to have a righteous chicken burger so that about made up for it. I also got to visit Wales for the first time ever, achievement unlocked! I managed to get a few photos of my stall thanks to our friend who came to say hello who has the same camera as me & lent me his battery (thanks Stuart!).
It was super nice of the queen to turn up, especially seeing as she had such a busy weekend!
