Weekly Good Stuff

Posted by kim on January 22nd, 2010

Lots of things this fine Friday. I was going to tell you about my cat’s new litter tray, it’s fucking amazing, but I think it deserves a post all on it’s own… So yeah, what a random aside. I’m sure you don’t really want to hear my inner dialogue, right? Or maybe you do… hum. ON WITH THE GOOD STUFF! YEAH! … YEAH!

juan molinet

  • Lovely illustrations from Juan Molinet (you can find his behance here). Via thunderchunky (one of my favourite blogs).
  • Design*sponge article about ‘living in Fantastic Mr.Fox’ which is all pretty and lovely and nice. Check it out.

That’s all for this week! I would like to say that yesterday I signed up to do the race for life in July. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a 5km local run that happens country-wide in the UK. It’s run solely by women and is to raise money for cancer research UK. Anyway, you should all totally go and sponsor my ass over here. Funnily enough, we went to the gym last night for the first time in an ever… and I pretty much killed myself running 1km. Yeah. O.O

  • Amazing advertising as posted as CR-blog.

leica camera

  • Super pretty camera, this would sit nicely next to my eidelweiss diana+ (which, I have to say, didn’t stand up very well to my rucksack in HK, the paint started chipping… not good!).
  • Adam and I read the whole of this blog last night, Tiny Art Director. Some illustrator guy asks his 4 year old daughter what he should draw, then she critiques his work. Head over there for hilarious commentary and ridiculous briefs!

red riding play set

  • My adorable talented friend lindsay has made this amazing dress-up set!!! Get it on etsy!

 Weekly Good Stuff!

  • OK that’s all, here’s a photo of me and Beardy McBeardFace on the MTR to disney HK. We can never take nice photos.

When Viral Ads Get Good

This has to be one of my favourite viral ads in a long while. It’s pretty neat!

‘That’ Heinz Deli Advert

Posted by kim on June 26th, 2008

What loonacy!

If you saw the advert, the Heinz deli advert, you’ll know what I’m on about. Basically, it’s a family situation on a morning but the mother has been replaced by a new york deli counter guy. He uses the mothers dialogue whilst making sandwiches, patting the kids on their head as they go off to school and giving them their lunches. Then the father comes down, grabs his lunch and heads for the door. At this point the deli guy’s all like ‘Aren’t you forgetting something?’ and the father returns and pecks the deli guy on the lips in a ‘see you tonight!’ kind of way.

Here’s the video from youtube:

200 Homophobic cretins have complained to the ad watchdog about this example of dudes kissing, and the ad has now been taken down and Heinz have had to apologise… APOLOGISE FOR WHAT?!
Seriously? Watched the news lately? kids getting blown to pieces half way across the world? bloated bodies floating in rivers in Burma? Get some freakin’ perspective.
