Hiphopsideproject

I went out and bought a ‘first day cover’ and set of stamps this lunchtime. Not something I’d normally do, mind! It’s quite geeky right? Anyway, they’re super special because they combine two of my favouritest things! The first being Dave McKean, I’ve loved his work all through my artiness, from his comic book illustrations to his film art direction. I have several books of his, too. If you don’t know who he is, you should check him out for sure, such an elegant mix of computer generated art and mixed media. The other thing these stamps have is cryptozoology, another crazy love of mine. Mythological (or real….) creatures have always captured my imagination and have always featured heavily in my art work, too, from faeries to Yeti’s. So, here are the stamps…
