A brief bitch about Spore.
Posted by kim on September 11th, 2008
So, everyone in my household bought Spore the other day. I’d heard about the stupid DRM issues (srsly, make me feel more like a criminal for buying my own software?), but with so many expectations for the game I had to get it.
Firstly, I planned on putting it on my G4 iBook cos, ya know, I’m on that more than my desktop PC. However, that was not to be! Not supported. Alas, my iBook is on it’s last legs anyway, so I wasn’t so annoyed.
Major annoyance occured, however, when Adam couldn’t get the bastard to work on his 1yr old intel based Macbook. Srsly, backwards compatible spore is not! So it would appear that from the maker of the Sims… a highly consumer based game (the stuff that girlfriends, not gamers, play) comes a game that only those with elite machines will get the best out of.
Apart from that there’s major let down with the gameplay too, apparently it’s just way too easy, I can’t say much about this ‘cos by the time I got the game installed on my PC (took about 1fsking hour) I only managed to get towards the end of the pool stage before my freakin’ stories started on the TV. For your entertainment I reccommend checking out the amazon.com reviews, and also all the bitchin’ controversy on the amazon.co.uk reviews (censorship is second to none!).
