Relying on Other People sucks…

Posted by kim on September 30th, 2009

God damn, I’m so frustrated right now. I’ve been busy working to prepare for the designer market that FinestImaginary will be selling at on Saturday, and because of other people things have been held up. Take for instance my business cards, there’s going to be press and trade at the event so obviously these are essential. I sent my design over on the 7th of September, after two proofs and a corrected design I confirmed my proof on the 21st. 9 days ago. After sending over 5 emails to different people in the company who I’ve been in contact with, I’ve yet to receive a reply OR my business cards… AND they’ve charged my card. Losers. If I don’t get them before Saturday I will name and shame, for sure. I have plans for some low-fi home printed cards if they don’t turn up, though.

Secondly… 120 necklace chains are somewhere between me and my findings supplier. Whut. This isn’t good, not good at all. They were posted first class last Friday, stupid royal mail. Alas, plans are in place for emergency chains.

I hate it when people don’t deliver, it’s the most frustrating thing ever.

In other preparing madness, I’m making an appliqued felt sign for the table, so this morning before 7am had even hit I was cutting letters out of felt. Oh, life. Spanish was fun last night though, Muy Bien!

Good luck with the designers marketplace. Helen always puts on a good show :)

As for business cards, i went with 123print recent who were super helpful in getting my order out asap. Also don’t forget there’s postal strikes on all over so that might explain the delay on your chains.

    Good luck!

Thanks lucy! I’m excited for the market!

I’m so annoyed at the business card people, though, mainly because of the lack of communication. Don’t think I’ll be using them again!

I agree, stupid royal mail. I went to Paris recently, and thought that it was a good excuse to get a new (used) camera. So I ordered it off eBay, and it was posted on RM’s 48-hour delivery thing an entire week before I was due to go. Lo and behold, I boarded the plane sans camera, and according to the tracking info, it didn’t actually arrive at my place until half way into the week I was away. V. annoying. Not sure how 10 days equates to 48 hours in RM’s collective mind.
