So yeah I’m a day behind posting this, I meant to do it yesterday and googles homepage sparked my memory just now. 40 years ago, on the 20th of July 1969, some guys landed on the moon and walked around, neat huh? There’s a tonne of cool stuff surfaced too, like some of the original tapes of the landing (which were lost, or something), and a neat video about how the landing would have been televised if they had the technology we now have. I’m sure my astrophysicist boyfriend has much more to say on the subject, too! Also, I heard a while ago that it wasn’t ‘one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’, and that it only sounded like that because of an interruption in the recording or something. Apparently it was supposed to have the extra ‘a’ in there, who knows! I think it sounds better without the ‘a’.

Should be 'One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind'. The quoted 'One small step for Man, one giant leapt for mankind' makes less sense as Man and Mankind mean the same thing. However I think most people derived the real meaning of the statment anyway.
