The Great Outdoors

I just realised I never posted about my new collection of items. I started working on some pieces related to ‘The Great Outdoors’ in December, and the first of them are now available in the shop. It’s inspired by, obviously, the great outdoors, especially places like Yosemite in the USA… I don’t know why, it’s years since I went but it just kept springing to mind while I was working on these. It’s also inspired by some favourite creatures on mine, including the badger (after I’d made the badger moleskine I was getting requests for a necklace..!).

I’m going to be expanding the range bit by bit, and it’ll soon include some illustrations that I’ve been working on a bit & some new moleskine designs.

New art & the last days of being 26

We had quite a productive weekend at the Lawler-Avison household, including furiously cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom and sorting through the hundreds of DVDs we have (we’ve decided to take the plunge and throw away all the boxes, keeping the DVDs and box notes in folders).

We also finally got ’round to hanging some prints that we’ve had for ages. It’s been an on-going saga of finding the right frames, buying mounts, putting them in the frames with the mounts, getting hooks and then finding hanging wire… but we finally got there!

These two in our bedroom are by Divine Paper House, I love the lily pad one on the blue wall.

The next new addition is a Kris Atomic print on our landing, Adam got me this for my birthday last year *gulp, it’s my birthday tomorrow*. There’s also a super cute bear plate that I got from Jim Bob Art at Renegade fair. Neat, huh?

I love growing our print collection, the hardest part for me is finding frames that a) I like b) don’t cost a ridiculous amount.

Anyway, yes, it’s my birthday tomorrow.. I’ll be 27. I’m not that bothered really, it’s a bit of a none birthday, but it does mean I’m creeping ever close to that big 3-0 mark.

My 26th year was pretty exciting, with the whole quitting my job and chasing my dreams thing. I hope my 27th year is equally as awesome.

And finally, a photo of Bramble.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

This past Saturday was one of the first free days we’d had in SO long. Between doing all the markets, working hard and being sloths, we hadn’t been out anywhere fun in ages. I really wanted to see the Donna Wilson (cute) & Rachel Goodyear (creepy) exhibitions at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park so we headed over there on Saturday morning.

Here are a few photos from our day out! It was a cold day, I should really have worn jeans instead of chinos.. oh well.

New Moleskines!!

printed moleskines New Moleskines!!

I’ve been stocking the store full ready for Christmas this past week, including these brand new printed moleskine designs! I introduced these at the Renegade craft fair and they went down a storm, they’re now available on the website. They’re printed on moleskine pocket cahiers and are available as plain or lined paper (and I’m soon going to be introducing some squared paper designs, too, perfect for cross-stitchers & scientists!).

I have a couple of new jewellery items to add, and will be introducing some more new products tomorrow. Very exciting! I can’t believe how quickly Christmas is creeping up!
