I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Meomi, but I’ve been entranced by them (and their amazing website) for a while. It’s amazingly pretty, and has some great little features. Go check it out… hover over things!

I have hundreds upon hundreds of blogs on my google reader, I’d be lost without it. Some blog posts I skim, some I barely look at, but I always end up finding something to love on Pikaland. Showcasing some great (up and coming) illustrators and artists, pikaland is supreme eye candy. So yeah, you should take a look. The blog design is sweet, too.

ps. I figure I’m going to start posting about my favourite sites like this more, separating things from weekly good stuff (which will be returning this Friday) so that it ends up with more visuals/links to separate articles rather than just sites etc.

Indeed. I started a life drawing class a few weeks ago, I’m not exactly a beginner (I did it once a week for at least 3 years, but that was about 5 years ago) but it’s been nice getting back in to it and discovering a ’style’ again. I can kinda see a style emerging now, I’m interested to see how it’ll develop.

I came across the modern vintage illustrations by Tom Whalen today, and have pretty much fallen in love. He recreates classic film posters, super hero characters and cult characters in his block colour style with strong lines and a bright vintage look. I’m totally going to email this guy and see if I can get some prints. Amazing.
